Work at the heart of railway maintenance

Network Rail has now brought all infrastructure maintenance back in-house in order to deliver a more efficient, cost-effective and well co-ordinated programme nationwide.

It’s been one of the biggest changes the industry has seen in decades, but the move is already reaping visible dividends. Some 15,000 employees have been successfully transferred to Network Rail from seven different companies, more than doubling the size of our workforce. And by introducing standardisation and process improvements, maintenance costs have been reduced by an impressive £70m since work was brought back in-house.

Are you keen to be part of the team that is making a real difference to our country’s railway? Then take a look at the roles we are currently recruiting for.
